The final mood board from the completed film.

The journey of this doco began back in 2019 just as the covid pandemic began ramping up. I ended up interviewing Jason twice over the space of 12 months and he was incredibly kind and generous with his time. Jason is such a lovely guy.

Along with his time, Jason shared some exclusive photos from his time spent working at Nintendo Power along with some photos of the team at Nintendo Japan.

Jason_NintendoOfAmerica_parkinglot - “Just me in the parking lot of NOA in Redmond, Washington”

Jason_E3_NintendoBooth.jpg - “Me in front of the Nintendo booth at E3. Since I attended as press for Nintendo Power magazine, I luckily never had to work at the booth, and just got to run around meeting with developers and publishers for interviews and game demos. But our booth was always a good place to take a break.”

Miyamoto_Aonuma_Tezuka - “Pics I took of Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, and Takashi Tezuka (from left to right)”

Here are some photos from Jason’s notebook from when he worked with the team in Japan.

“Each block of text in the game was put into an Excel sheet. The numbers I wrote down refer to the row number for a text block that I needed to change or that I had questions about for the NCL team. Somewhere else in my notes, I wrote that Line "20034" was the end, meaning there were 20,034 blocks of text in that game!”
